Context

A major international energy company was undertaking a significant move to the cloud to execute their strategy to reduce costs.  They chose AWS as their key cloud partner.  Along with a significant investment in cloud infrastructure, the client was also investing in getting their custom software to the AWS platform as well.  Some key business applications were not “cloud ready”.

Solution

Arcurve worked with the client to estimate and reduce the risks associated with the move to the AWS platform in the cloud.  Arcurve took an iterative approach, tackling the areas that were deemed to have the highest technical risk first.  Once a technical proof of concept was successfully completed, another estimate and budget were done.  The project proceeded with code migrations, database conversion to a new database (Postgres SQL) and significant quality assurance.

Arcurve delivered this 3000 hour project on time and on budget – no change orders, no corners cut – just good collaboration with the client and a high performing team from Arcurve.  The business users of this software were very happy with the migration – having compute and UI/UX improvements delivered along with the migration.
